How to add items to the activity stream

Hi

Is there a hook to add items to the activity stream?

I have a plugin where you can save posts in WordPress as favorites. The plugin is called “My favorite posts” > http://www.kriesi.at/archives/wordpress-plugin-my-favorite-posts

I would like when a user adds a post as favourite it would be added as an item to the activity stream.

Anyone know where I should start?

sure, have a look at the skeleton component and the function bp_example_record_activity( $args = '' ) {

Jens, I think Rich is referring to this page, which has a link to download the BP skeleton component:

https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/creating-a-custom-buddypress-component/

The “skeleton component” is (I think) designed to hook into the Activity Stream, so by looking at that code, you might find what you need?
