How to add Site-Wide Admin notifications to the BuddyBar?

    I thought this was enabled by default. But I see that it’s not, at least for my install and/or theme.

    How would I go about adding the Admin Site-Wide notifications to the BuddyBar and have it show up as a notification like when you get other notifications in the BuddyBar?

    I know I have to use this code, or a varient of it, but I have no idea where to put it:

    ok, seriously stumped on this one. visited a bunch of sites that tell you how to change the admin bar, and looked at base BuddyPress files and have no idea how to add site-wide notifications to the BuddyBar. Anyone have any clues?
