    Hi, everyone.
First my gratitude for such free…
I am new to WP (not good with coding also, no experience at all)I am trying to build a social network using buddypress to my WordPress and what I want is to group users automatically based on their user profile. I add a profile filed called country of residence in the ‘Basic Field Group’ and as a requirement user will specify their country of residence.

Now what I want is to Automatically create a group for each *country*, and automatically add a new member to it based on the country they specify.

    Please do help me.

P.S am using (wordpress version 3.7.1 suffusion theme) (budypress 1.9 and bbpress 2.0 )

    Hi,

for autocreatation you can create a small script who do that ( check buddypress default data how create demo groups )
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-default-data/

And buddypress-groupomatic plugin can make the autojoin group for members depending fields.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-groupomatic/

Hope this can help you !

Unfortunately, that doesn’t help at all. One is to create a demo kind, which is used to check if things are working in the expected way, is not for use for live sites also plus it is not compatible. (the groupomatic, the Second plugin is not compatible)

P.S 🙂 Though I stated what version of WordPress, buddypress and bppress versions am using on in my first post, I will restating it here also. (am using wordpress version 3.7.1 suffusion theme) (budypress 1.9 and bbpress 2.0 )

    Pls

    @icog,

    Quit being an oliver twist…

But I think this is what you’re trying to do:

Do the followings and you’re well on your way…

    1. Install the plugin “BP Group Organizer”
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-group-organizer/

    2. Install GroupOmatic Plugin
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-groupomatic/

Follow @megainfo’s instructions above by installing the GroupOMatic plugin to create appropriate conditions for the filling-in of matching profile field at registration.

You can also utilise the Hierarchy plugin to manage the groups.

It’s fairly easy to manage what you seek with the above solutions including the suggestions of @megainfo

GroupOmatic plugin is not compatible (just use it and quit complaining), OR create a plugin of your own that does just that. Or if you can spare some change buy the pro version.

    Oliver Twist 🙂

You sounded awfully angry, relax buddy! I am not complaining, I am stating facts if it is not compatible it is not.

Yet, since BuddyPress is all about experimenting with everybody in the community, so I will re-try yours and meg@info’s suggestion 🙂

    Thanks
