I was looking at this plugin

I was wondering how would i change the fields from events, etc to have it only search for people data? location, email, phone number, etc.

Another question is how would i connect the plugin database to buddypress?
For example. when users are signing up to my site, I want to a couple fields that go into the plugin database and display the info when people use the search field.
