How to Create Forums in bbPress Within BuddyPress

    Hi,

    I followed the instructions here:

    http://codex.buddypress.org/developer-discussions/buddypress-forum/

However, I’d like to know how to set up Forums within bbPress. It looks like I can great groups, and when I create a group a, a “Group Forum” is created, but I can’t figure out how to create a Forum (what I’ve called a “Board” before).

What I’m saying is that I don’t know where I can find the admin panel for bbPress. Usually, you can create boards and sub-boards, stickies and such…where do I do that if bbPress is “within” BuddyPress?

Even more detailed: here at buddypress.org, an admin set up the following forums:

    Installing BuddyPress
    - Problems with getting it running.

    How-To and Troubleshooting
    - Once it's running.

    Creating & Extending
    - Existing and new plugins/components and themes.

    Requests & Feedback
    - Feature requests; criticism.

    Third Party Components & Plugins
    - Post your add-ons here.

    Gallery
    - Show off your BuddyPress powered sites.

    Miscellaneous
    - Everything else.

    …how do I do that?

    Best,

    Dainis

    …/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums/bbpress/bb-admin/admin.php

and didn’t get any kind of admin panel…

You’ll need to add a bb-config.php file to the bp-forums directory in order to access it. You can take a look at this thread.

Thanks, I’m still not seeing a bbpress admin panel, and actually there are bb-config.php files in

    root

    root/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums

    root/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums/bbpress/

The one in bp-forums was automatic.

The one in bbpress I put there as per the suggestions…

bbPress is only up to 1.0.2 so I have no idea what you’re talking about. It’s probably best to make a new thread.

The bb-config.php that lurks in /bp-forums/ is intentionally NOT the regular bbPress config file. Open it in a text editor and have a look.

Also, as per Windhamdavid’s post, continue discussion in https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/how-to-access-to-bbpress-admin-from-buddypress

I’m closing this as we seem to have many threads concerning this exact subject in the last few days.
