How to delete required xprofile fields that appear on register page

Hello there,
users registering to my website used to be asked to enter their names and surnames as required fields.
now I want to delete these required fields but I do not see the “delete” option the appears on the other fields that are out of base group
I managed to move them to other groups (that do not appear on register page) but then register button redirected me to homepage without adding a new user to pending users
how to delete these fields safely?
