How To Edit The Admin Bar, I.E. embedded search, links, etc,

    Hi, ive seen this done on another buddypress site, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to place things within the admin bar, so that they will show up on the main blog, and all of the other blogs, Id like to put a search bar in there and a link or two, anyone know how to do this, I cant seem to find what flie specifically i need to edit to put things in
