How to enable registration on single WP?

    I’ve got BP 1.1.2 installed with no problems, on the Single version of WP.

    I cannot for the life of me figure out how to enable registration, to create new accounts. I remember doing this in the Site Admin options on WPMU, but cannot find an option for it in the Single WP.

    When i visit the “BP Compatibility” page for my theme, I see this “Register: http://capitalistdog.net/register/ (registration must be enabled)”, When I click the link, it just takes me to my sites homepage, and i have no idea how to enable registration.

    It’s on the WordPress Settings page, the option called “Membership”.

    From the main wordpress admin you need to go to “settings” then check the box “anyone can register”

    Is there any way to enable the activations mails in a Single WP like in MU?

    It seems to me BuddyPress supports activation only in WordPress MU.

    after enabling the Membership check box i still get taken back to home page.

    wordpress Version 3.4.2

    buddypress Version 1.6.1

    i need help
