How to extend -Smileys

    Hello,
    I use BP1.5.1/Integrated BBPress Group Forums. The default WordPress Smileys seem to work on the Group Forums if i enable emoticons via the Admiin Gui.

    Now i try to extend the list of the usable smiley’s as my users are asking for some additional ones. Unfortunatly smileys from WP-Plugins like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-monalisa/ seem not to work in the BP-Group Forums.

    How can i extend the list of available smileys without some ugly hacks to the wordpress Core Files?
