BuddyPress.org

I’m sure this has been asked before but for the the life of me can’t get it working. I am trying to get the Buddypress avatar of the current logged in user to replace the WP avatar in comments. Every function I’ve tried seems to be undefined or deprecated, I’ve been searching through the bp-core functions but can’t find it (it’s probably right in front of me though)! Anyone know the right way to do this?
