how to get recently liked or commentsed post as the latest

I am using WOrdpress version 2.9.1.
Here is my question – let say I have added a post in a forum on 3-09-2017. After two days someone else Y adds new post on 5-09-2017. Now if Y adds comment to my post on 08-09-2017 my post is still not the latest . SO do we have any way to move the post which recently received comment or likes as the latest one… Right now the latest post is decided on the basis of post created not on the basis of comments or likes..
