How to hook up with sitewide activity recording process?

I want to update usermeta when sitewide activity is being recorded, disregarding an individual user is logged in or not, desregarding a specific components is adding activity or not, as long as bp is running the activity recording process, I want to update the usermeta(which get involved in recent activity).
I triedadd_action('bp_activity_after_save', 'bp_activity_add_user_extra');
It doesn’t work. Need help!!!
