How to link an existing wordpress blog to a buddypress profile?

When looking at your sites in the demo section it seems buddypress allows linking of an existing wordpress blog into buddypress (or into a user profile). Going into the blog add section, I can only see an option to create a new blog as a subdomain. It would be a highly useful feature to connect existing blogs into buddypress, since most users already have theirs and each update could be part of the social nature of the site.

Any idea?

Thanks DJP. I imagine the demo sites coded it on their own then. Any rough idea on ETA for this feature?

this is available as a plugin, i think its called newblog defaults or similar, i think i remember getting it from bp-dev.org

Though I should note that this plugin has absolutely nothing to do with the original poster’s question!

It is extremely handy for setting up what you want for new blog defaults though.

I know this topic is old, but if you’re talking about when you post a comment on a blog, that your name should link to your BP profile… this is possible via this plugin:
