Hi All,

One great way for me to expose the forums section, which I feel in the driving force behind my community, is
to have a page listing all of the forums available on my buddypress page. This is possible for GROUPS
http://privateenglishportal.com/groups/
However, this is not the case for FORUMS
http://privateenglishportal.com/forums/

I know it is possible to get the forums to appear if the groups are set as Public, but that leaves
the members completely vulnerable to anybody accessing my website, be they a signed member or
a spammer.

Any php code adds from our web experts here?

Might be sad if I don’t remember what my own plugin does but I have something called Group Forum Extras – which contains some functions to pull out an index of forums. But I believe I coded the sql statement only to pull out the private forums if the user is logged in and a member of. Though this would point you in the right direction if you wanted to modify the code. (just remove that conditional) look for (bp_forum_extras_index_get_forums in the file bp-forums-extras-index.php )

@nuprn1, reviving this old thread. I’m going to have to give that a try (digging around in your code, that is) and get back to you….. (Also, thank you for making something to actually use the forum tags!)
