How to modify the top admin bar?
-
My users have really taken to the WP-Admin-Bar plugin, which provides common links in the top bar above the blog and admin pages. This is replaced by the BuddyPress bar, and people are really missing some handy links from the old admin bar.
Is there a way I can add some of the links from the WP-Admin-Bar to the BuddyPress bar, ideally without needing to edit the file each time BuddyPress is updated?

This thread has a bunch of code snippets you can use:
Perfect! Thanks! I hadn’t seen that (and I _did_ search before posting )
No worries. Just be sure to set the status to resolved, if you can.
Hey this thread might be a little bit old.. But I wrote up a tutorial on adding menu items, drop down menus, & drop downs with flyouts Via a plugin so its all upgrade safe.
The link is here:

bummer. the page that was originally mentioned having a bunch of code snippets doesn’t load:
i’ve pretty much bent the bp admin bar over a barrel through the different jobs i’ve had. Why don’t you take a look through my posts, and if you need something else send me a comment or contact request.
