How to Remove “New Sites” Option from Activity Stream Filter & Ordering Options?

I’m not allowing members to create sites so I would like to remove this option, since it will always say “Sorry, there was no activity found. Please try a different filter.”
Also, is there a way to reorder the options that appear in the dropdown? I have a lot of options so I’d like to make them alphabetical or have a custom order.
