How to Remove Public Messaging

Is there an easy way to remove the “Public Messaging” capabilities in Buddypress? I found some answers to this in the Forum but did not understand exactly how to do it. Hence, I’m somewhat of a Newbee in respect to changing coding, etc.

Can’t you just disable it in WP Admin?

I can see where to turn of “Private” messaging, but not “Public”. Is there somewhere to do this in the admin that I’m missing?
