How to restrict 2 different type of members (or roles ) to do not become a friends

Hello , how can I restrict 2 different type of members (based on xprofile fields or on 2 different roles ) , e.g photographers versus models or mens & womans to do not become a friends , I want to let the girls speak to each other , and photographers – agencies to speak only between them , I don’t want to let them to send private messages between photographer and girl , I want to let them only speak publicly (using forums ). So I would be using allow only friends private messages plugin to restrict the only friends to speak to each other , but never those 2 groups between them . How could I achieve that ?

You would need to create a plugin for that. There’s none that does what you want at the moment.

:( I thought that too, but I was also thinking that somebody should resolve that problem in the past, because this feature what I want is in basic turning buddypress in dating & meeting site (paid one, which restricts mens or womens contact each other until they pay for it.)

It’s on the BP 1.4 roadmap https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2348 – BP Roles and Capabilities

Thank you @mercime , not very good news to wait for 1.4 BP –:( , but I was thinking , what about S2Member plugin ? I’ve never used that , just installed to get to know how this work, they say that I can use conditionals to restrict different roles capabilities , anybody is using it ?
