how to style bp-menu plugin like this link

Okay guys can someone please push me in right direction, I just want to know how can I style this bp-menu like the link below. I mean how can I mess with the css stylesheet for bp-menu plugin?

Which BP Menu on which theme are you referring to. The best way is to use Firebug, a Firefox add-on, and copy over the styles to your own theme’s style.css http://www.studiopress.com/tips/using-firebug.htm

bp-menu or wordpress menu in general but the reason I said bp-menu is because I am using modemloopers plugin and I tried to contact him regards other plugins which was not right because I don’t want to bother a developer. but if anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciated. thanks. I just want to add some icons and background colors to the menu.
