How to upgrade from 1.2.8 to 1.2.9

I am probably missing something very obvious, but what is the best way to upgrade Buddypress from 1.2.8 to 1.2.9? Should I just manually FTP the new files over the old ones, or is there an automated upgrade process?

Also, is there a preferred order in which I should upgrade WordPress and Buddypress? Should I upgrade WordPress to 3.2 first, and then upgrade Buddypress?

Sorry, figured it out. Once the update to WordPress 3.2 is complete, the update to Buddypress 1.2.9 becomes available from the dashboard.

I upgraded WP 3.2 and BP 1.2.9 but the jquery effect to expand admin menus and widgets is broken. Anybody else having the same problem?

I have tried it on my test site, updated tp WP 3.2. Diverted the theme back to the default, but do not see any notice or link to update to BP 1.2.9

Just found it. Its not listed on the updates tab, but when I went it to the list of my plugins, it said there that there was an update available.

are you updting to BP 1.2.9 or no ?

@ilokano Yes Im getting the exact same thing. Menus are now static. If they were open they are now stuck open and vice versa. RUBBISH.

Anyone else know why this is happening?

    Cheers

I had the same problem with the wordpress admin menus in ie9 and online (linux) sites but not on local (vista) sites. Once I viewed and played with the menus in firefox they worked as expected in ie9…. I hope others using the same sites would not have to go through the same process…

Also the buddypress upgrade didn’t show up unless I ran add new plugins first….

Haha I re-installed the latest WP after upgrading BP and menus now work. Sweet, like the new look
