Does “Groups” have to be enabled in order for the bbPress forums to work? Right now, mysite.com/forums just links back to the index.

Well forums run under groups, so I guess the answer is yes.

Is there a way to have members just sign up and be able to make a topic in the forums? I’m not sure I’m understanding why they would need to create a group before being able to make a topic.

I guess what I’m asking is, is there a way to just have a site-wide forum instead of individual group forums.

This is pretty much all I want. Just basic basic functionality. I don’t want users to have to join a group or be redirected to the groups page when they click on a forum topic. I think it’ll confuse them.

They used BBpress *outside* of BuddyPress.
