Image in Multi-line Text Area isn’t saved

I added a field with the Multi-line Text Area type which offers a IMG button to insert an image in the field, right? The dialogue box shows up, I enter the link, the line/code appears in the box.
But after I save the changes, I get the status from before without the line/code for the image. Neither a message or hint. Any ideas what might prevent the
from getting saved?
