In the members view how is active members computed

So if I go to the members page i see something like this
“Viewing member 1 to 20 (of XXX active members)”
what is the criteria to make up XXX?

User has to have logged in at least once. This sets a “last_active” meta key in the wp_usermeta table, and that’s what we look for.

thanks @Djpaul…. Do you know if there is a plugin that gives more visibility to site usage?
