BuddyPress.org

I am using wp 3.0.1 and buddy 1.2.5.2 In order to make new blogs I have to make a new site. Once i make that new site no profile info transfers over, for instance if Im in my main site and Hit blogs and go to Urban Cookbook it sends me there with no problem but no profile info transferred. I was hoping this would be one in the same not in a totally different site but I dont see where i can just make a blog without makeing a new site. Any help the blogs is what will run my site and need this working can anyone help
