Inserting image html into forum posts

Hi all,
I know you can add images hosted elsewhere into forum posts by using html, but my users don’t really understand that, I am looking for an easy way to insert some image html into a forum post – without users uploading to my servers
I already use oEmbed for BuddyPress – but I am looking for something that isn’t restricted to a specific set of sites
