Install Trouble and Feature Inquiry

Hello
Just installed it on WP 3.4.2. After a successful install I click on settings and get this error
You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

I removed and re-installed BP and I am getting the same error. I am also using Google Chrome

Features
I am looking for a profile manager that can..

Let a user register, create a bio, upload videos/photos, have an avatar, and allow the videos/photos to be shares publicly (if user allows).

Since I know nothing about BP, I have no idea if it can do these things.

Did you go through the set up wizard where it gives you options?

Are you using multisite?

I have never used BP, I have not done anything, I know nothing about it or even what a multisite is. This was my first attempt to work with it.

I experienced the same thing.

When I clicked on “settings” with the Buddypress plugin, i get the same message:
“you do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

When I ran the installation wizard and clicked on “active” or “must-use” under the components section. I get the same message.

BTW, I’m using Politic theme from envato.

Would appreciate any advise on how to proceed.
