I’m using the BB-press plugin which comes with buddypress, groups had their own forums and they worked fine. They STILL work, in as much as you can see their data and previous topics, but when you try to create a new topic going forward, it just refreshes the page, no error message is given.

What role does someone need to be in, in order to post to the buddypress forum?

Everyone is by default an Author. They were able to do this last week, after the BP update, now they can’t.

I can do it, however, as admin.

Is there a rights issue when an author creates a group versus when an admin creates a group? Even though we both enable forums in the groups we create, if an author makes a group, it seems no one can post in those forums.

So, I think I’m figuring things out here.

It appears if a NON-ADMIN creates a group, even though “enable forums” is checked, the forums are NOT enabled until a wordpress administrator unchecks the box, saves, checks the box, saves.

How can I make it so that all users can enable forums without making them admins?
