Launch Date – Official Update?

    The last official update we had was February 11, 2009, on the blog. Can anyone provide some feedback as to when this will go to version 1.0 final? I’m trying to hold off my site migration to buddypress until then. Trying to avoid a big change, then updates right after that. I know Andy was waiting on some updates to WPMU as well. Can anyone update us on the latest and what/when to expect a release?

    Pretty much waiting on WPMU 2.7.1. Once that is out, I’ll be changing BuddyPress to work in /wp-content/plugins and not mu-plugins. It’s a simple switch and is already tested.

    You will however need to use 2.7.1 of WPMU if you want to use 1.0 of BuddyPress.

    Good deal, thanks for the update!

    /wp-content/plugins hmmm… not sure how all that will work. i assume these plugins will all be hidden from the other bloggers (non-admins) but still activated site wide?

    Thanks for the info apeatling.

    Is there any chance that we can subscribe to email notifications for new updates? Especially if there will be any security holes (I really hope not) :)

    What is the latest on RC-2?

    RC-2 will come out as soon as 2.7.1 is released. I’ll release it via the automatic plugin download feature built into WordPress – as well as a zip.

    As long as there are no major problems found (none for a while in trac) I’ll update to 1.0, and that will then test the auto-update procedure.

    thanks for the update Andy. what feeling are you getting from donncha on 2.7.1? soon to be official?
