Hi,

I am new to buddypress, and I am trying to make some modifications to “Sweetdate” theme, which buddypress is bundled with.

What I need to do, is limit the number of messages between “friends” before an action is required. Basically the user can send up to a 10 messages to a “friend” before they have to decide whether to meet and continue talking. Does anyone know a way to track the number of messages that are sent and limit them like this? It would have to take into account messages that have been deleted as well.

Additionally, I want to limit users to a certain time period in which to send those messages, so for example the user has 10 messages or 2 weeks to decide to continue chatting.

Any help would be appreciated – please throw some code at me so I can get an idea where to start.
