links from blogs to buddypress site make it dissapear

  • This is weird. Links from user created blogs make the whole buddypress site dissapear.

A simple ``my site``makes it vanish, at least 90% of the time

    How can you explain it?

I have to log in to the admin every time it happens and it fixes it. I mean, just logging in. I don’t have to do anything but to log in.

    Can anyone help?

  • A link like that won’t break the site. It must be something else. Is this something new since you’ve installed a plugin (other than BuddyPress) or changed theme? Most likely, I’d guess it’s an PHP memory error.

I did not explain that right. I meant that when you click a link back from a user blog to the main buddypress site, the whole site seems to crash. All I get is a blank page. I comes back as soon as I log in to my dashboard. Or it comes back on after some time, as it did this morning, except I haven’t really tested that. It also happens when you log out and type the url to the main site in the address bar.

You may be right about the php memory, there doesn’t seem to be any other logical explanation. My host has some strict rules about keeping php memory down to 32mb so I don’t know what will happen once my site gets more populated :-S
