Load times…

    My BuddyPress install is taking forever to load, it’s definately not an internet connection speed issue as all other sites load no problem.

    I followed this article in the Codex http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/improving-performance/

    and installed the file based version but still the loading time is roughly about 20 seconds to load or reload a page.

    I’m using Dreamhost to host the site. Any suggestions as to how I can get it running a bit quicker?

    It shouldn’t be running that slow to begin with for any reason. Sounds like something is gummed up somewhere. Install YSlow for Firefox and see exactly which script is taking the longest and let us know what you find.

    Thanks John, YSlow showed that one of the plugins I was using ‘Multi-level Navigation Plugin’ was taking the longest. I’ve deleted it ( as I wasnt using it anyway but it was still activated) and it seems to have increased the load time somewhat!
