Login and forwarding

Hi,
I have a problem and I’m wondering how you solved that: If I click on a link in a notification email but am not logged into my site, I get an error message, that this site is not found. Of course I can log in and go to notifications afterwards, but this is very user unfriendly. Is there a way to get the login when you click on a link that can only be shown “logged in” and get forwarded to the content just after logging in?
