Looking for a Following-Feature

I’m looking for a plugin to replace the “friends”-feature through a “follow”-feature.

Renaming would be the first step. But we also need to remove the reject and accept-functions.

Also we need to split the friends list into “following” and “followers”.

I’ve checked the buddypress source code, but I haven’t yet an idea, how to do this without changing the core

The beat way would probably be to write a new component and turn off the friends component.

Florian, if you are german, you could just change the translation in the .po -file.

Open the german .po with po-edit, search the translations you want to change, and you have what you want.

There was a guy on testbp.org who said that they were working on a followers/following feature.

Not sure what the status on that is.

I would love to see a “follow” feature where members could “follow” blogs within the community. Right now, you can effectively follow other members as friends, but there is no way to follow your favorite blogs.
