Maintenance Mode message appears in login page

    Hi there,

I am not in Maintenance Mode (I can access my buddypress site as usual) but in the login page I have the message “This site is in maintenance mode” (Please see screenshot: http://postimg.org/image/6gcmvotkb/)

I have checked if I have the .maintenance file in root folder via FTP (including hidden files) but I found nothing. In.htaccess file I don’t see any relevant information regarding maintenance mode neither.
Only thing I can think of is that I have recently updated buddypress to version 2.5.3 (as well as updating some plugins such as wangguard and askinet).

Anybody knows what could cause this? I just want to get rid of that message during login.

Maintenance mode is related to WP. BuddyPress was updated 24th may and WordPress 6th may.

Have you tried to debug by deactivating theme and all plugins (except BP) ? Use one of Twenty’s theme for that test and see if the notice remains.

Read also here to have a global overview of how this notice is coming up.
