Major Problem – This has to have been covered before

Hey again,
I have installed the name restrictions plugin and used googles bad word list to prevent people from registering with foul names. Unfortunately my users have quickly caught on to the fact that they can change their NICKNAMES to whatever they please, now I’m sifting through loads of awful usernames and need to nip this problem.
I like the nickname feature because honest users are using their actual names, so I want to keep the function. Is there any way, plug in or script I can use to add the same restrictions to nicknames?
