Make BP register blog on different WordPress Network? (WP Multi Network + BP Multi Network)

  • Okay, so I recently had the problem of getting two different (but integrated) BP installs on domain.com/blogs (where user blogs will go – domain.com/blogs/username) and the subdomain of home.domain.com. That was the really hard part. Now comes the even harder part.

I’ve installed WordPress 3.3.1 as a subdomain network. I then installed WP Multi Network so I could create another network within the main network in a subfolder, domain.com/blogs/. I did this so user blogs get created under domain.com/blogs/username. I installed BP on both the main network AND the sub network of domain.com/blogs/ using BP Multi Network.

When a user signs up on home.domain.com — where they’re supposed to signup, the blog url shows up as username.domain.com (due to the subdomain setup of the root network), but I want it to be domain.com/blogs/. Now here’s the question: HOW can I make BP register the user blog on the domain.com/blogs/ BP / WP Network install and keep the account (in a way) on home.domain.com/username (or whatever), where the main profile page / activity streams of the network / user will be. The ONLY thing going on domain.com/blogs is the user blog.

BASICALLY: How do I make BP register the blogs under /blogs/username in the wp_blogs table instead of username.domain.com? I’ve tried modifying the site url via the register theme pages, but it didn’t work :/

    Any help?

This seemed like more of a BP issue than a WP MultiSite one.
