Exactly the same when I test using the search box (top left of the home theme). The problem is that there’s no code written to handle it yet – all the existing code does is to call the bp_search_form_action
action which isn’t implemented anywhere.
Hm.. But in buddypress demo it works fine so where is the problem?
to be found a member must:
fill the “full name” of buddypress profile, not only the wpmu username, or he should have done some login or activity after the bp installation.
Your “old” wmpu members are considered inactive until they fill the full name or do something.
Allright it works.. But i don’t understand why this doesn’t work on registration. You have to fill out your Name on registration so you should be found without updating your profile.. Any Idea how to fix that?
@sgrunt – I’m not sure that’s quite right, as my search can’t find any users – active or not.
i don’t know, in my buddypress (http://wikiroma.it/index.php) the search and letter search work for users with the “full name” (not the username) filled. Sorry
Are you using wpmu 2.6 or 2.7? I’m using 2.6 might be the problem?!
2.65…i don’t know about 2.6
WPMU 2.7 and Buddypress I am running from svn
I’m running WPMU 2.7 and BP 1.0b2 and this works w/o a problem as long as the user has entered a “full” name.
I also find users that entered their full name on registration (as this is required by the site).
It will only search users who have logged in at least once, and have at least one piece of profile information filled out.
The account I am testing with has logged in more than once, and I have more than one bit of info filled out. I’ve tested against several users.
It’s working fine now as expected Andy. Thanks.
@Andy: I have seen this several times and not sure where to get the latest trunk? Excuse my ignorance, but what is the “trunk” anyway? I had upgrade WPMU to 2.7 and had the original BP loaded. I reinstalled BP and tried the members search, etc. as above and it is still not working as the previous posts have suggested. Thanks for any help with this in advance.
read on https://buddypress.org/download, there’s a link – you will need svn installed to use it.
