How can I enable or disable xprofile fields in a group. I can see that this is possible for an individual field but I was wondering if this was also possible for a group of xprofile fields as well.

Out of the box there is no such setting.

Oh, and it seems there is a plugin-based solution for that: http://wptavern.com/conditionally-hide-buddypress-profile-field-groups-based-on-user-role

i’m not seeing groups on the user profile front-end editor at all, with or without the above plugin.
