How do i change the members profile page URL to something a bit more secure?

At the moment its http://www.site.com/members/firstname-lastname

Can it be changed so instead of firstname-lastname to userID?
Im having a problem with 2 members who have exact same name, so in the directory they have the same link to their profile page.

Just to add onto this, the site has been set up to display first and lastname and not their login name.

If we can just use the username that should fix it.

I also would like to know how to change profile page URL.
My current url structure is the below

http://www.site.com/member/login name

but would like to change something like this for better security

http://www.site.com/member/user ID
