Migrating an old multisite to singlesite

  • Hello,

I have a problem which might be uncomon, I am after a solution for weeks but I can’t find something that work well. I am runing this website http://ipeche.com which was firstly created on a buddypress 1.1, and WPMU, it was like 2 years ago.

Since then I’ve followed the upgrades, now it run on WP 3.3 and BP 1.5.2 but in fact there’s not the blogs for users and I don’t need them. And managing it now is not very convenient as each time I must to “jump” between the network and site in admin.

So I’t like to go back to a singlesite installation and get a clean installation (I feel like everything there is a bit of a mess). I’ve tried many things but nothing which worked well. Can anyone of you help me in the process of migrating this to a singlesite WP ?

  • For regular multisite advice, you’re best to post on the WordPress.org multisite forums for expert advice. As far as BuddyPress goes, I’d worry about getting WordPress sorted first, and then seeing what state BuddyPress is in.

I’ve done already a single site install which was working well, but after the problem is migrating all data from buddypress, that’s why I post here. THe problem is that in database there are many references to wp_1_ table which referer to the website ID 1. I’ve tried some search and replace in the database but everything was broken. The activity stream and groups content was right but friends relations was all broken and there was lots of issues like this.

    so nobody to help ?
