Missing Main Blog ID 1 in Admin Menu and elsewhere

I know i’ve seen a couple threads around here somewhere about this but I don’t remember a solution.
After an upgrade, I think to 1.2.4, I’m not seeing the main blog in the admin my blogs menu. This has happened before and it seems to get fixed with the next update. it also seems like main blog 1 is not being recognized by a plugin I’m testing that looks for all available blogs.
What could be hiding the main site? Any one had this happen and able to fix.
