BuddyPress.org

Hi, I’ve installed the Buddypress and bbpress plugins to my wordpress site which works great. However some spamming characters are signing up and posting advertising comments. We don’t get too much discussion, so is it possible to moderate each topic/reply before it appears live?
I’ve tried the Settings>Discussion options but they don’t seem to affect it.
