Looking more into this, it appears that this can be accomplished by using a post-type. I can find many threads about adding a new post-type to buddypress activity page, but what is the post-type that is used in by buddypress activity plus stream or when a user posts to a activity stream, updates there profile, adds an event, etc?

I have found some plugins (Top 10, WordPress Popular Posts and WP Most Popular) for most liked posts and pages. From experimenting with these, it seems they do not have access to the buddypress activity stream or buddypress activity reactions.
Is the above statement correct? Is there something similar (shortcode or widget) for the buddypress activity stream? The plugin ideal would do anything from views, likes/reactions, or comments and then somehow have a central way to display the top content to all users on the front end, not just admin on the backend.
Thanks in advanced.
