I converted from vbulletin and so I naturally had site wide forums. I was wondering if I could change these site wide forums into groups or move topics to groups.

@limitx3m The BP group forums will be merged into the bbPress sitewide forums in upcoming BP 1.7. Please hold off conversion to group forums at this time.

So with 1.7, does that mean buddypress will be down to sitewide forums and bbpress plugin instead of three choices?

I’m hoping this means that they are no longer going to use an older version of bbpress for the groups.

That they plan to modify how groups exist so that they all work on the same bbpress and that moving topics to and from a group or site wide forum will become a lot easier w/o a plugin.

That’s what I’m hoping.

bbpress plugin that can be used for buddypress groups or just forums would be great. As it is right now, very confusing since each version don’t have the same support for plugins.

Hopefully they are pulling that and a lot of other things off in terms of groups, bbpress, etc.
