My layout is different on every page
Hello, I’m currently using a WordPress theme made by Lubith.com and it worked until I installed Buddypress and now it the sidebar changes the position on every page. Eg. on home it is in a place and on “members” is in another place. I tried editing the stylesheet and using “position: absolute; Top:..px; left:..px;” but it still doesn’t work. This is the site http://feelthemelody.org. If you try clicking on the pages you’ll see that the sidebar changes the position.
Please let me know!
Don’t use the positional property unless you have a good deal of experience with CSS, especially position:absolute.
You look s though you haven’t made an attempt to get BP working with your theme? I’m assuming your theme is not a BP compatible one? If it isn’t then you would have needed to copy over the BP templates and re-factor their markup to fit with your themes templates.
As things stand BP 1.7 will offer theme compatibility and be far easier to use for non coders. Please try installing the BP 1.7 beta 2 release and using that in theme compat mode which it ought to default to, this will use your themes template files to inject the BP content into i.e page.php.
I can use CSS and I use to make WordPress themes by myself but I don’t know how to make a theme for Buddypress, that’s why I made a layout using Lubith.com. And when I was installing Buddypress it asked if I wanted to change my theme and I said no so it said it edited it to make it work with Buddypress. And it works but the only thing that doesn’t work is the sidebar. I tried changing the code again but this doesn’t work. What should I do?
Well if the theme said it edited it to work with BP then if it’s not you need to take it to the theme author for help with.
