Need to lower nav menubar below header

I need help! I’m using
Word Press ver. 3.3.1
BP ver. 1.5.3.1
and Simple WP Community Theme as the child.
I’ve made edits to the BP default theme (functions.php) in order to get the banner sized correctly. I’ve also made edits in the child theme to lower the search bar and fit it perfectly between the banner and main content container. I’d like to be able to place the navigation bar beneath the header.
