New plugin: BP Group Management

Hi everyone. I wrote a plugin that allows site admins to manage groups and group membership all in one Dashboard panel: http://teleogistic.net/code/buddypress/bp-group-management/. It doesn’t add a ton of functionality to the Godlike powers that the sitewide admin has had since BP 1.2, but it does do a couple of convenient things:

    – lists all the groups in a single place for easy scanning and deletion;

    – allows the admin to add users directly to groups, bypassing the need for invitations

    – displays a list of all members of a site for adding to the group, instead of just the admin’s friends

Please download it, play with it, and let me know if you find problems.

@Boone yes 0.3.1 fixed my issue now I can see all the users, but I still have one issue with Private Groups, if I add a user to a Private Group the same user won’t see it. Any idea?

@bpinspire – I’m not able to replicate it. When you say “the same user won’t see it”, you mean that the person who has been added to the group does not see it on the “my groups” page? Or that the user can’t access the contents of the group?

The user added to the private group does not see the group on his “my groups” page

    Hello!

It is nice idea for a plugin

    main problem I have faced,

we have over 50,000 members.. and it needs pagination of the members list – in the invite members to a group list

otherwise there is too much data to handle :(

so as it is, I cant use it :(

Thanks for the feedback, kriski. I have wondered about pagination myself. It is easy to add it (actually, it’s already in the code but I commented it out). But I don’t know how best to implement it. If you have 50,000 members, then paging through using WP’s pagination feature is going to take for-ev-er.

Maybe I’ll put pagination in the next version of the plugin, making the default number of members per page pretty high (100, maybe). Then in the future I’ll add an autocomplete like the one in https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/invite-anyone/ so that admins have a way to find members even on an enormous installation.

    Great plugin!
What I have found though is that it appears to be made to work with BP Group EMail Subscriptions and that from the super admin page you should be able to edit users within a group and change their e-mail subscription setups.
This does not seem to be working for me.
    WPMU 3.0 and BP 1.2.5.2
    Any help please?
