New user activation emails not coming

    @maganiza

    Hi Guys

    I have been having this problem for a week now. I even posted the problem on this forum but never got a single response. I also checked the other posts but those old 2015 solutions are not working for me.

    My problem is I have a site with latest wordpress and buddypress, when new users register they are not receiving the activation emails. Nothing in the inbox and nothing in the spam/junk folders. I actually have to activate in my user admin panel/list manually. Within the users list I can see a reflection which shows that the activation mail has been sent.

    All hell broke loose last week but before that the site has been sending activation email with wordpress@mydomain.co.za without any issues. I have tried wp-mail-smtp, mail smtp but nothing works. I can send test mails successfully with all these plugins.

    I have tried the hosting company but they are saying the mail hosting server is fine. They are saying there is a problem with either wordpress or buddypress. The email log is below. Please help

    We are experiencing this same issue. All auto emails are sending except new user activation email. I’ve checked to make sure this email is enabled and it is, but it’s still not sending. Please advise. We’re losing out on new customers.

    Thanks my guy you just saved my ass. And @sharmavishal thank you too.

    So I went to tools, buddypress, selected – Reinstall emails (delete and restore from defaults) and clicked repair. Problem solved.

    Has there been changes done? I say this because when I go to tool, there are no links to a Buddypress section.

    I am having the same issue as described above, but unable to try this possible solution because I cannot find the Buddypress email repair.

    Hey @grafcom, thanks for the response. I did eventually find the email repair. Tried it. It didn’t work. Used a different SMTP plugin that was able to find the error occurring in my system. It is saying this:

    Your Web Host provider may have installed a firewall between you and the server.
    Contact the admin of the server and ask if they allow outgoing communication on port 25,465,587.
    It seems like they are blocking certain traffic. Ask them to open the ports.

    If anybody knows how to fix this issue, I would appreciate any help.

    I am talking to my webhost provider, Cloudways, right now. It’s been about an hour and they are still working on it. This doesn’t appear to be an easy issue to resolve.

    Regards,

    Kyle
