New User registration problems

Hi, i really hope someone can help as i’ve spent almost 3 days on this now.

New users aren’t able to register on the site, some receive the verification email while some don’t but even those that do receive it and click the activation link are still unable to log in afterwards even though from my admin panel it’s showing them as verified.

i’ve installed and uninstalled various plugins like Invite Anyone and s2members but nothing seems to work and i’m now close to throwing in the towel on this.

any help greatly appreciated

i’ve just created a new test account and whilst it’s asking me to create a password in the registration once the account is created a new random password is being generated, which is obviously causing even more confusion.

can this be fixed?

and should users be asked to create both wordpress and buddypress usernames? this really is painful.

Fixed this.

for anyone interested we still had Register Plus Redux installed which was clashing with the Buddypress registration.
