The probleme occurs because you haven’t the good page for the forum.You certainly have some trashed pages, especially forums menu leads to /sample-page/ Also members leads to members-2 because there is a page nammed member in the trash….
In few words, this is not a regular install.
Pages who are in the trash are not delayed permanently. You need to clear the trash to do so.
First delete permanently all the pages related to BP and delete the trash.
Then go back to the page settings of BP and recreate them from there, accordingly to your BP components.

Thank you for your helping me. I deleted all my pages, emptied my trash, and started clean by uninstalling BP and trying to reinstall. But i still get the same problem…

Are you running group forums or sitewide forums?
I noticed when using my mobile device there is an additional error msg saying “Please pick the group forum where you would like to post this topic” which doesn’t show on my laptop. Even though I select a group forum, both error messages appear.

In your group admin settings deactivate the forum option and save it…Then reactivate it..this solved my problem.
Hi tarkham, thanks for helping me. I’m still new at this so not too sure if I went to the right place. I went to dashboard — settings — BuddyPress and in the Components section I deactivated the Discussion Forums, saved it, then reactivated it. Still same error.

no that is wrong…go to groups you created and then goto admin, under it forum…uncheck the box and save then refresh the page and check the box and save the setting again…let me know if thhis helps.
